Exciting exhibitions are in the works
The American Clock & Watch Museum is pleased to announce two new exhibitions, "The Story of American Watchmaking" and "Time Zones and Railroad Time," which are slated to open in February 2027.
For the first time in the museum's 70-year history, the Museum will have a permanent exhibition dedicated to the story of American watchmaking. This exhibition will present a thorough narrative of American watchmaking and manufacturing, from early handcrafted pocket watches through the rise of industrialized mass production, the development of affordable “dollar watches,” wartime manufacturing, and the continued production of watches today.
"Time Zones and Railroad Time" will explore how railroads inspired the creation of standardized time zones and highlighting the importance of precise timekeeping in this effort.
The museum is seeking support for the planning and implementation of these new exhibitions, including gallery renovations, design and production of educational materials, purchase of display cases, and installation.

The museum is looking for watches and ephemera, such as period advertisements or photographs, that would enhance these exhibitions and to add to our collection.
