Give to the Annual Fund

70th LOGO.png

On April 10, 1954, the American Clock & Watch Museum first opened its doors to the public as the first museum in the country dedicated to horology.

Much has changed over the past seven decades. In 1954,

· the average income in the US was $4,137

· a gallon of gas was $.23

· "Rock Around the Clock” was recorded by Bill Haley & His Comets

· the TV dinner was introduced by American entrepreneur Gerry Thomas

· the Boeing 707 was released after two years of development

While some things, like costs of goods, technology, and tastes in food and music, may have changed, others have not. In particular, the American Clock & Watch Museum has continued its commitment to preserve the history and heritage of the American clock and watch industries.

In honor of the museum’s 70th anniversary, the Board of Directors has set two goals: to get 70 new gifts to the annual fund and to raise $70,000 for the annual fund. This fund provides approximately 25% of the operating revenue for the museum and is the financial basis for the care of our collection, exhibitions, educational programming for students and adults, and research activities throughout the year.

Won’t you please help us reach our $70,000 goal by making a gift to the museum?

Every gift makes a difference! Through your generosity, we will be able to continue to preserve and interpret the museum’s collections and enhance the educational experience of our visitors.

Thank You! We appreciate your generous support.

Give to the HVAC project

Your tax-deductible donation will help us complete the installation of a new heating and air conditioning (HVAC) system that will service our eight public galleries, collection storage areas, and office spaces. This will include the removal of our 1956 cast iron boiler and oil tanks in favor of a more energy-efficient heat pump system. The new system will have the ability to properly control both temperature and humidity throughout the museum's building, which will create a better environment both for the preservation of our collection and for the comfort of our visitors.
