American Clock and Watch Museum

School Programs

It's Time to Visit Us!

Located in the heart of what was once the world center of clock manufacturing, the American Clock & Watch Museum showcases the history of Connecticut's clockmaking industry.  While your students are visiting the museum, they will view a two-story tower clock and learn what makes a clock "tick".  They will be fascinated by the chiming of the tallcase clocks and they will be challenged to find important clock icons as they wind their way through the museum on a docent-led scavenger hunt.

If you are looking for a field trip that will delight your students, this is the one to book!  The tour, which includes an orientation session, takes about an hour and a half and can be combined with a trip to the New England Carousel Museum, Barnes Nature Center or the Imagine Nation Museum to complete your day. These venues are nearby and provide areas for your students to enjoy their lunch.

Click on the link below to send an email to our Director of Interpretation and we'll be glad to help you plan  a tailor-made outing for your group.  Please note that if you are unable to plan a trip to the museum, we would be happy to accommodate your group by scheduling a classroom visit.
